Makrut lime-cured kingfish. Prawn in betel leaf with sai-oua chicken sausage. Wagyu, chilli, basil and fried quail egg. That’s just the beginning at contemporary regional Thai diner Charlong, stop one on the Carlisle Street Crawl.

We’ll have that and more with a glass of Rob Dolan pinot gris, before food writer Dani Valent points us towards Latin-inspired hotspot Rufio, where we’ll sit down to a braised beef cachapa – a savoury pancake of Venezuelan provenance – and, if you don’t mind, a frozen passionfruit Margarita.

And it wouldn’t be a Carlisle Street Crawl if it didn’t call at Moonhouse, our final stop, where we’ll tie a bow on a rollicking flavour ride with chicken and prawn wonton with black vinegar, Braised duck spring rolls and char siu pork buns; a cocktail, too.
