Konstantin and Manuela Filippou x Liberty: The Greek Table

Greece meets Austria meets Fitzroy this Festival as Konstantin and Manuela Filippou bring their unique brand of hospitality to Bar Liberty. Konstantin’s adventures in fine dining have earned his eponymous restaurant two stars from the Guide Michelin, there are more strings to this talented couple’s bow, and it’s their other two venues that are the chief inspiration for this collaboration. O Boufes, the bistro they opened on Dominikanerbastei in 2017, was a prime mover for the natural wine movement in Vienna, while Mama Konstantina, on Döblinger Hauptstraße, is all about the Greek side of Konstantin’s heritage. It all comes together at Konstantin x Liberty in March in a lunch celebrating good farming and deep flavours, einzigartig und authentisch.

The menu is a conversation in progress right now between the kitchens in Vienna and Melbourne, but so far the chat has seen us talking roes, talking olives, smoked octopus, trahanas with lovage and halva with drinking vinegar.
