At his Ho Jiak restaurants, Junda Khoo has done much to showcase the breadth and power of Malaysian food culture, and also lift its standing among Australian diners. Flower Drum, meanwhile, is a true landmark of Australian dining, and, as it enters its 50th year in business, a genuine benchmark in the world of Chinese fine dining.
"I'm super-excited to team up with one of my favourite restaurants, Flower Drum, for MFWF," Junda says, "We'll be bringing our take on classic Chinese dishes fused with a lil' tinge of modern Malaysian. Think things like 12-hour slow-braised short-rib with a Vegemite sauce. I can't wait to cook for you!"
This evening celebrates the vibrant flavours and traditions of Malaysian and Cantonese cuisine across a thoughtful six-course menu that showcases the creativity and heritage of both Junda and Anthony Lui and the Flower Drum chefs. It’s a rare opportunity to witness the meeting of two culinary masters.
