Feed your curiosity at Australia’s biggest celebration of drinking and dining - 21 to 30 March.

Baker’s Dozen

Melbourne Food & Wine Festival 2025 hits a celebratory high note for the final weekend of March, taking to the beating heart of downtown Melbourne, Fed Square, for two days of free-to-attend, flavour-packed action.

Rising from the ovens of the state’s most extraordinary bakeries, Baker’s Dozen, returns for a third year. And like a sourdough loaf rising high in a Scotch oven, in 2025, we’re expanding everyone’s favourite celebration of caking and baking to include a few of our favourite bakers from Australia and the world. Who’s coming? All Are Welcome, Antara 128, Baker Bleu, The Flour Melbourne, Kudo, Lulu and Me, Lumos, Lune, Madeleine De Proust, Mietta by Rosemary, Monforte Viennoiserie, Raya, Tarts Anon and To Be Frank, plus some amazing reinforcements from out of town – straight outta Gippsland, The Invy Baker, teaming up with Michael and Pippa James’s new Urbanstead, as well as (hang on to your bannetons) the hottest bread crew in Sydney, A.P Bakery, collaborating with Brunswick baking stars Iris.

It wouldn’t be autumn, meanwhile, without hot cross buns, and you’ll find every bun worth its butter at the Hot Cross Bun Bar, presented by Western Star. Gone are the days of fruit versus fruitless – at the Bun Bar, you’ll have the chance to try four different bakers’ takes on the classic, with Bread Club, Falco, Loafer and Melbourne’s own Baker’s Delight all coming to the party, hot and cross. Would you like us to assign someone to butter your bun? Leave it to the Butter Butlers, suited, booted condiment concierges that live to spread. Now that’s what we call cultured butter.

Meanwhile, Vote #1 Scone, presented by Bakers Delight, meanwhile, brings three never-before-seen scone flavours to the party. Your job is to taste each one, before casting your vote and electing your champion. The winning scone will be featured in the hallowed pastry cabinets of selected Bakers Delight stores – and you will be ensconced in the annals of baking history.

Thirsty? Get electro-lit on electrolytes at the Coco Cabana, presented by Cocobella, and quench that thirst with the rehydrating power of coconuts remixed into clouds, coffee and other bevs you’re going to love.

And all the while, Melbourne’s favourite food and drink personalities will be holding it down on the Festival Stage, presented by Vic Grown. There’ll be demonstrations, there’ll be entertainment, there’ll be giveaways galore and there will be a whole lot of homegrown good times.

See you at Fed Square for the final weekend of MFWF 2025.
